Why Focus on Fascia?

Most therapies focus on strengthening muscles and repeating developmental milestones over and over… but the body’s true support comes from a deeper, often overlooked tissue: fascia.

Imagine your child’s body as a fruit salad in gelatin.

The fruits are the organs, bones, and muscles.

But the gelatin that holds everything together? That’s fascia.

When that gelatin is weak, the body collapses.

When you gently strengthen it… the body finds support, stability, and freedom.

And that’s exactly what you’ll learn in this workshop.

Is Fascia Therapy Scientifically Supported?

Absolutely. Modern science recognizes fascia not just as a passive wrapping but as an active, intelligent, and deeply connected system influencing our posture and movement.

Recent scientific studies have found that:

  • Fascia acts as an internal tensional network, a support structure (biotensegrity model), that organizes and maintains the body's shape from within. This vision, developed by researchers such as Levin & Martin, completely changes how we understand human movement.
    [Levin & Martin, s.f.]

  • This fascial network allows for efficient force distribution and support of the body, facilitating more stable and less tiring movements.
    [Bordoni & Zanier, 2018]

  • It has a direct relationship with the nervous system, functioning as a sensory system that informs the brain about the body's postural state.
    [Bordoni & Mahabadi, 2024]

  • When this network loses its tension—as if the gelatin that holds everything together melted—the body collapses: alignment, balance, and control are lost.
    [Stecco et al., 2023]

Furthermore, recent research has gone even deeper:

  • Fascia has been shown to actively contract and participate in the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system, not only as support, but as active tissue.
[Schleip et al., 2019; Schleip & Klingler, 2019]

  • Fascia is highly innervated and is key to proprioception, that is, the body's awareness of its position.
[Van der Wal, 2009; Corey et al., 2011]

  • Its unique structure, such as the microvacuolar system, allows tissue gliding and facilitates functional movement.
    [Guimberteau et al., 2010]

  • Furthermore, fascia not only transmits forces locally but also at distances within the body, contributing to overall stability.
    [Wilke et al., 2018]

  • The use of viscoelastic tools—such as pillows, soft balls, or foams—can modulate and improve fascial function. This type of gentle, progressive stimulation is especially valuable in children with cerebral palsy, where the connective tissue needs more support and organization.

    [Blyum & Driscoll, 2012]

👉 In short:

  • Fascia isn’t just real — it’s essential.

  • And what you’ll learn in this workshop is fully backed by modern, practical, and parent-friendly science

Fascia Therapy has completely changed how I see and help kids like yours!

Hi — I’m Mariana!

My journey with cerebral palsy began when I was just 13, volunteering with children and families who completely changed the way I saw the world. That experience led me to become a physical therapist, and from the very start, I knew I wanted to dedicate my work to supporting children with neurological conditions.

I began my career in early intervention, working with high-risk infants and premature babies. In 1999, I joined the team at the first 3D gait lab in Latin America, where I analyzed the walking patterns of hundreds of children and adults — many of them with cerebral palsy. I supported surgical decision-making and led post-operative rehabilitation at one of Venezuela’s top pediatric orthopedic hospitals.

In 2002, I became certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment for Cerebral Palsy (NDT/Bobath), and for 8 years, I worked closely with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, and educators — always putting the child and family at the center of the plan.

After moving to Canada, I spent 6 years working with Leonid Blyum’s ABR Americas (Advanced Biomechanical Rehabilitation), an alternative therapy that focuses on deep connective tissue remodeling in children with CP. That experience opened a new path for me — one that led straight to fascia.

Curious and inspired, I dove into the world of fascia therapy. I became a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner and Craniosacral Therapist to better understand and work with this powerful, intelligent system in the body.

In 2017, I founded WeFlow Fascia Therapy with one dream: to give families around the world the tools, strategies, and confidence to support their children — from home, with their own hands, and from a place of hope.

Every day, I get to witness what happens when parents begin to trust their role, their connection, and their intuition. My work is about helping you believe in your child’s potential — and in your own power to support their journey.

Testimonials

My son now sits more upright. I didn’t think something so gentle could create such a big change.

  • – Carol, mom of Matthew

The workshop gave me confidence and clarity. Now I truly feel like I’m helping.

  • – George, dad of Sophia

It’s not magic — it’s fascia! I loved how everything was easy to understand and apply.

  • – Ana, mom of Thomas

I loved the step-by-step explanation — it left no doubts. When I do the exercise with my son, he enjoys it and relaxes. I can see he’s getting stronger.

  • – Emily, mom of Noah

My son has a genetic syndrome. He has dystonia and fluctuates between low tone and stiffness. Since learning fascia therapy, we’ve put everything into practice — and we’ve seen such a difference. His whole body relaxes more. Using the wrap and ball helped improve his posture and even his digestion (he struggles with constipation). His head also stays in a better position — he used to lean it to the left. We’re so happy with the changes we’re seeing. Thank you!

  • – Isabelle, mom of Matias

Got questions? I’m here to help.

How is fascia therapy different from other therapies?

Fascia therapy focuses on your child’s fascial system — the deep, connective tissue network that supports the whole body. It’s gentle, passive, and doesn’t require your child’s active participation. You can even do it while they’re resting or sleeping.

Is this only for children with Cerebral Palsy (CP), or does it work for other conditions too?

While most of the families we support have children with cerebral palsy (from mild to more complex cases), this approach is also effective for other neuromuscular and genetic conditions.

How much time will I need to complete the training? Are the lessons pre-recorded?

Yes, all lessons are pre-recorded and ready for you inside the course platform. You’ll need less than 2 hours to go through everything — and you get lifetime access, so you can revisit the content whenever you need.

How soon will I start seeing results?

You can begin applying what you learn as soon as you prepare your tools. Some families notice changes within the first month of consistent practice.

Can this therapy help with scoliosis?

Yes. Fascia plays a key role in supporting spinal alignment and mobility. In this workshop, you’ll learn an exercise that supports the spine from the front, as well as how to make an abdominal binder — a comfortable and effective alternative to rigid braces.

My child is older — even an adult. Is it too late to start?

It’s never too late. Fascia responds at any age, and this therapy is passive — meaning your child can simply lie down while you do the work with a soft ball. As long as someone is available to apply the technique, it can help.

My child has a feeding tube.

Can I still do this therapy?

Yes. Many families we work with have children who use feeding tubes. In the workshop, I show you simple ways to protect the area while using the tools you’ll build.

My child has sensory issues.

Will this be too much for them?

This approach often helps children with sensory sensitivities. That’s because fascia is full of sensory receptors — it’s now considered a sensory organ itself. The gentle, consistent input of fascia therapy can actually help the nervous system feel more regulated over time.
